The Adventurers Way
It was raining and so we went for a wet welly walk to jump in muddy puddles. And we found a secret passage. Mummy said it was an old drain. We pretended to be adventurers and we had to explore through big, spikey trees and nettles and ivy. And we climbed trees and made some cool videos of us splashing in puddles.

Perfume making
Mummy found some oils (that she had collected when she was younger with Biganty Becca in Brixton) and she suggested that we make a perfume from them. First we had to come up with our scent combination. Big brother chose lemon, lime and ginger to make a zingy wake up spray. Little brother did it with orange and ginger for a sleepy spray.
We got a pot of water and we put a few drops into it and mixed, then poured it into our sprayers. The leftovers we poured into small bottles to make bath potion. Then we used a calligraphy ink pen to make labels which had our design of logo and our company name and the ingredients and what it is.

Pasta making
My Dad said that when Jamie Oliver's first book came out it was the first cooking book that made his inspiration for cooking. I want to be a chef when I am older too. So we made some fresh pasta with seafood. Here is the recipe.

Painting like William Morris
My school topic was William Morris who was a textile designer. We wanted to copy one of his designs and we did it on a wall as it would be more like his wallpaper art. Our family has only just moved into a new house and we still need to decorate and so my mum said it was fine to paint on the walls! The picture has a tree, birds, fruit which we think are oranges or pomegranates. It isn't that good because my little sister did lots of messy scribbles on it. But she is very cute.

Home made obstacle course
It was a hot day and we decided to make an obstacle course. We used old planks, old carpet, logs, chairs, benches and a goal and ball. We laid down two logs beside each other for us to balance on, then bunny jumps over the old rolls of carpet, then climb through the tree, then crawl under two chairs, then scooter down the ramp and hit the knocker, then score goals with left foot, then right foot, then a header, and finally dunk your head in a bucket of cold water!

Den building and juice bar
We made a den out of big sticks. We leaned them up to a tree and then we covered them in blankets to make a tepee. We had some blackcurrent squash and pringles and strawberries as a snack in the den. Then we played cowboys and Indians and we called it the den of despair! Mummy was the cowboy and we were the Red Indians and when she tried to shoot us we speared her.
In the evening only us two brothers made a juice bar. There was one lime juice and fizzy water and one orange one. There was also a fruit bowl with mango, big orange and small orange and banana and apple to make fruit kebabs. Mummy and Daddy had to pay £2.50. And we ended up having a big dance in the garden to Superstition by Stevie Wonder which is our favourite song.

Making wild garlic pesto with pasta
We found some wild garlic in the woods and the next day we sliced some garlic out of the ground and brought it home. We whizzed it in a blender with oil, hazelnuts and parmesan (we foraged the garlic to copy what people did in Neolithic times as this is my school project).
Also to be like cavemen we cooked the pasta on a fire outside in the garden. Then we slept in a tent!

Titanic project
I made a picture of the Titanic with pastel because I was learning about the Titanic in history and it was of it sinking. I also did a quiz about the Titanic for my family. And we won! I learned that there was a nurse and her name was Violet Jessop and she survived all 3 sister ships sinking. They were the Olympic, Titanic and Britannic.

Keeping Chickens
We rescued some battery chickens and we named them Nugget, Fluffington, Wendy, Roxanne and Harmonius. We got them a coop and built them a perch out of an old wood shed. Sadly Harmonius died and we buried her in the garden. We averagely get 3 eggs a day so we are making lots of things like cakes, brownies, pavlova and fresh pasta. Some of the chickens had lost their feathers but now they are growing back. We give them water with 2% cider vinegar every day and some chicken food pellets and corn. We also scatter grit made of oyster shells which makes their egg shells harder.

Easter and Passover
In our family four of us are Jewish - me (big bro) and my 2 siblings and my dad. We are also Christian and go to church. So we celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah (we call it Chrismukkah) and also Easter and Passover (Eastover!). This year we did Eastover in lockdown. This involved the Passover meal when we remember the Jewish people were once slaves in Egypt. We put wine drops on our napkins which represent the ten plagues which are disease in cattle, locusts, river of blood, frogs, lice, boils, flies, hail, darkness and the angel of death. There is a special Seder plate and we use it to put the symbols of what we eat on it - parsley which we dip in salt water to represent tears, horseradish to show the bitterness of slavery, lamb bone which represents the passover lamb, boiled egg for the temple sacrifice, charoset (mix of nuts, grated apple, pear, wine) to represent the cement the slaves had to build with, matzo crackers to show that the slaves had to rush out and did't have time to wait for the bread to rise.
I (big brother) also made up an Easter egg hunt for my family and I put one of the clues up a tree in the garden and my dad got stuck! I hid the chocolate eggs in the chicken coop and made a coordinate map to show where the treasure was. Little brother made an Easter garden which shows the cave where Jesus was put after he died. We put it in the front garden with a sign that said HAPPY EASTER!
